Application note

Pt100 / Pt1000 / Thermocouple offset adjustment

Adjusting the ZeroPoint constant compensates for an offset error in the temperature sensor.

(See also: Zeropoint.)

ZeroPoint adjustment:

Drift (offset) is compensated by changing the ZeroPoint constant.

Calculation of new ZeroPoint:

When the real process temperature is known, the new ZeroPoint can be calculated as:

New_ZeroPoint = ZeroPoint + (RealTemperature - AnalogIn)

This re-calibration can be performed manually or by the controller in a situation where the exact temperature is known.
