A notification is a signal of an event from a Profibus DP slave.

 

Each slave is assigned a specific bit in the notification array.

 

When the notification variable is read from the application DPI (or any other P-NET device), all notification bits are automatically reset.

Bit 0:

Master driver notification is set when the master driver changes its state.  Driver state is only changed during the initialization phase e.g. after power on or after a reset.

 

 

Bit 1 to 8:

Slave notification. Each slave is assigned one specific bit in the notification array.

 

The slaves notification bit is set when:

·    Input data has changed

·    Slave input data is initialized

·    Slave enters data exchange mode

·    Slave leaves data exchange mode

·    Diagnosis data has changed
